Cnectd for BlackBerry Review

logoMy first impression of an app that says it will perform like BlackBerry
Messenger, but connect me with the people I know who rock an iPhone or
Android device, was not good. This app does work fairly well, considering it
IS still in beta testing stages. When I got a tweet about Cnectd, I thought
to myself: “I can just add those people using iPhone and Droid into BBM as
an SMS contact and connect with them that way. Isn’t it the same?”
Simply put, it’s not the same. With Cnectd those contacts can actually
participate in user created groups! The app is somewhat rough around the
edges, but expected on a first run build. It incorporates the best of both
BlackBerry Messenger and all the mainstream IM clients out there.
Users can sign up quite easily from within the app (no need to sign up via
the pc web version), setup is a snap, and Cnectd utilizes usernames.
This early stage of beta is a little rough, in my opinion, but with more
feedback from users like us, Cnectd has the potential to be a very powerful
smartphone-to-smartphone messenger client.
