So more rumored info has come out regarding the Blackberry Tablet. This new device has been rumored to be named the “Blackpad” however there is nothing out to validate the name as of yet.
It is rumored that the tablet will be shipping as early as November of this year and be priced at $499. The tablet is said to be sporting a 9.7 inch display along with Bluetooth, Wifi and front and rear facing cameras. The tablet will be manufactured by Quanta starting with 2 million units in September, with another 8 million the following year.
There has been nothing stated on what the CPU on the tablet will be, and whether or not it will run a standard Blackberry OS. Best guesses are that it will run a version of the standard operating system. Hopefully RIM has some tricks up their sleeve to make this tablet stand out in the consumer market.
As none of this is for certain we will just have to wait closer to a release date to find out exactly what RIM is doing with this one.
