Now this is a great offer from RIM to all you developers, or anyone wanting to get into developing for the Blackberry platform. RIM has decided to give a free Playbook to any developer that makes an app for the Playbook and has it accepted into Appworld!! This offer is even making me want to learn Adobe AIR to get my hands on a Playbook.
RIM has obviously decided to give their new tablet all the attention it deserves by making sure that app developers have ample time to make world class apps for the new QNX OS. During the AdobeMAX keynote today Mike Lazaridis not only announced the availability of the SDK and Simulator but always gave us a sneak peak at the Playbook with a live demo. If all of this press today hasn’t got developers excited I don’t know what will.
Everyone in the Blackberry world is chopping at the bit to get their hands on the Playbook, and I for one am glad that RIM is going about this new device in the proper way. Instead of rushing the device out they have obviously decided to make sure that they and developers have lots of time to get the tablet ready to blow the competition out of the water!
