Blackberry Partners fund has made the announcement of the regional semi-finalists of the Developer Challenge. Over 400 different applications were submitted for this Challenge and these 28 Apps were the top of the class. Each of the semi-finalists will recieve a sweet Swag pack courtesy of Blackberry including a new BlackBerry Smartphone, accesories to go with it, preferred placement inside the App world and a lot more. All of this valued at $16,000. These developers are still competing for the $1.5 million grand prize at stake.
Global regions were broken down as follows: North America(NA), Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific (AP) and Latin America (LATAM). There are further broken down into 7 categories: Fun and Games, Productivity, Sharing, Knowledge, Navigate and Explore, In the Know, and Multi-media.
Next round is for Finalists, and only the top 3 from each region will progress. Winners will be next, all of which will be announced later in the month.
