Don’t you wish you could have cool widgets on your BlackBerry homescreen like the Smartphone users can? Well now you can by using Fancy Widgets created by Sergey Demyanov. This neat little application allows you to choose from several different widgets which you can add to your BlackBerry homescreen.
Setting up the program is as easy as picking a widget to get started. You can find Fancy Widgets under your Downloads folder on your BlackBerry device. Opening the application takes to the main screen where all the fun begins. Click on the Add Widgets button to begin.
Each widget is unique and has its own set of options that controls how it looks, updates, and where it’s placed on your homescreen. One key thing to remember with Fancy Widgets is to make sure you have it enabled otherwise none of your widgets will show up on your homescreen.
Fancy Widgets gives you precise control over where each widget is placed on your homescreen. To activate this feature, simply click the BlackBerry button (also known as the menu key) and select Adjust Widget Position. You are taken to a screen where you can use your trackpad/trackball to move the widget around the screen and place it where’d you like.
Overall the program is nicely done, but I think there is room for improvement. The program only requires a small amount of space to run. I’ve had some trouble getting some of the widgets to work correctly on my device. Your mileage may vary.
