The other day we told you about the new Dish Network: Dish Remote Access For BlackBerry App Now in Beta. Well I am now here to tell you about the best feature of the app itself. If you have kids like I do you will really appreciate this app.
With the Dish Remote Access App for Blackberry you can remotely log in to your Dish Network DVR box:

The only issue is you must have ViP 722 or 722k HD DuoDVR with a Sling Adapter ($100) or upgrade your box to ViP 922 SlingLoaded DVR ($200 -$600 depending on your contract). The box also must be connected to an internet connection in your home. I chose the latter and upgraded my box to the ViP 922 SlingLoaded DVR from the ViP 722. The reason I upgraded to the 922 was because if I just went with the Sling adapter it would take over TV2 which was running the TV in my living room. So if you were in my living room watching TV while my wife was shopping with the kids and she tried to remote in to the ViP 722 with her Blackberry to let the kids watch TV it would kill whatever you were watching. Now the $200-$600 price range sounds steep (I got it for $200) but it is well worth the money especially if you have kids, We went on a short road trip this weekend and the kids were in the back fighting and arguing no stop until daddy wiped out his Blackberry loaded the Dish Remote Access and set them up to watch Sponge Bob. Ahhh silence how I have missed you! Now the app is still in beta but it seems to work flawlessly. You are able to stream over WiFi and 3G it does skip around a bit but for me its not that bad. You are also able to record TV shows and view your programing guide on the go! So if you have not already checked out the app you may want to Dish Remote Access For BlackBerry App. Also if you don’t want to pay the money for the adapter or the box and you have ViP 722 or 722k HD DuoDVR connected to the internet already you can still use this app to see whats on TV and record shows remotely. The Dish Remote Access app is also available for the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android you can also login to your Dish Network account and watch your shows through your browser. With this app you will never miss a television show again!
