BofA begins testing Mobile Wallet program using NFC-enabled BlackBerry devices

BGR is reporting that Bank of America has started testing its new Mobile Wallet payment service program based on NFC technology. The program is by Inviteonly and only works on BlacBerry devices. BofA is sending out new battery cover in addition to a microSD card to enable NFC on the following BlackBerry devices: BlackBerry Curve 8520 and 8530; BlackBerry Bold 9000, 9650 and 9700; and BlackBerry Tour 9630. As long as the retailer accepts MasterCard’s Pay Pass you will be able to use this new feature, the program will become functional “this spring”.
