Apparent RIM Contact Confirms 9850/9860 to be Called Torch; Cites Reasons of Unwritten Understanding

Lucas at N4BB just dropped this little nugget of information on their site. As you can see from the email a customer was asking about why they decided to drop the storm moniker from their lineup. RIM’s Support deparment replied stating that they were not a huge success (you don’t say…) and that they would be more successful launching the new handsets under the Torch line. Seems like even RIM is still trying to get rid of that nasty taste in their mouths left from the Storm series.
