AT&T to Disable NFC on the BlackBerry Bold 9900?

Churning up out of the rumor mill it seems that good old AT&T will be blocking near-field communications in their BlackBerry Bold 9900. And once again I am sure that the Nerds in a few of us will just have to find some way of getting around that one. NFC isn’t a major feature just of yet but it is a great feature that can allow a slew of things to be wirelessly transfered to your favorite Berry. This isnt the first time old Blue has nixed a few things from the Blackberry, remember the Playbook Bridge function that wasnt approved? But this time around it seems that Magenta and Big Red are going to remove the NFC feature as well? It seems to me that our favorite carriers maybe a little hesitant to dive into new technology that they or many don’t understand. So it will be interesting to see during the launch of the Bold 9900 and all of its goodies including NFC, and to as if this feature will be included?

What do you think of AT&T to  the NFC feature on the Bold 9900?

You can probably enable it in the engineering screen.
Like with GPS on some carriers, and tethering.

Honestly this pisses me off! We are spending all this money for a phone and then all this money for our plans but aren’t ALLOWED to use our features like blackberry maps, or nfc? And why? So at&t can chrage us MORE to use there map app? Like are bill arent high enough. Why bother getting the phone? All other great things aside on the 9900 mostly i was excited about the nfc and what the future brings for that technology? And all carriers are doing it. Suprised they let use use bbm?
