Quick Review: Real Contact for BlackBerry lets you monitor your BBM contacts

If you are the type of person that likes to keep an eye on your friends, then Real Contact for BlackBerry is just the app for you. Real Contact takes advantage of the new BBM integration that we are seeing in more and more apps since the API’s were released. However Real Contact takes it to a new level of creepiness and lets you monitor any of your BBM contacts location, battery level, signal strength. At first I thought this app may be kind of cool, but once I loaded it I realized just of intrusive it can be if you don’t set the privacy settings correctly.  I decided to download the app regardless just to give it a fair chance.  Hit the break to see some more screenshots and the rest of the review.

Once loaded and I connected some of my BBM contacts I started to check out what was visible and I was shocked.  I was able to see exactly were my BBM contacts were and exactly how much battery life they had left as well as the signal strength they had at that specific location.  However the app did create issues with my BBM conversations getting mixed together and it also seemed to freeze up my 9900 for a minute or two at a time.  I would not recommend this app to anyone at the moment as it doesn’t seem to be fully functional and bug free.  If you do feel like giving it a try you can grab it in AppWorld.

If you do decide to give Real Contact a try, please let us know what you think of it by dropping us a comment on this post.
