So after an extremely long day of DevCon info, I arrived home from work with all intentions of downloading and installing the new BlackBerry PlayBook Beta OS 2.0. Once in the door I was hit with daddy the internet is down… I thought to myself you have got to be kidding me… Sure enough the net was down so after an hour of troubleshooting I found out I had a loose connection. I replaced the connector and presto we have internet back!! Hit the break for more info and screen shots of the PlayBook OS 2.0!
Right after I restored the net, I jumped on my PC and set everything up to download the new beta OS. While it was downloading I was talking to our Senior Nerd @B_Ren8, He stated that he was on his third try at downloading the beta. The first time it failed it his download was at 89%, the second time it failed at 17%. I thought mine would fail as well but it didn’t. As I am typing this post right now my PlayBook is re-booting from the install. Okay, installed and re-booted. Everything seems to be in order until I tried running the BlackBerry Bridge apps. Bridge apps are not working on this PlayBook OS, now couple that with the fact I cannot connect my Bold 9900 to the PlayBook via Bridge. We are not sure what to conflict is , but this is a beta release and as with any beta release there can and most likely will be issues with the OS/App. So consider yourself warned. All in all one of the newest features in the ability to make folders! We here at NB have been wanting that feature for a very long time. Long story short the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 is in our opinion on track to be the best OS in the market by far! If you’re a developer and want to registered your PlayBook to download the PlayBook Beta OS 2.0 beta, you can do so here.
