RIM is Aware of Dev Alpha Message Indicating The Program Is Over

Just a few days ago we posted an article on the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha displaying: “Thank you for participating! The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device program has ended. For details on what to do next, please visit developer.BlackBerry.com.” Well this weekend I did not have a chance to boot up our Dev Alpha (we put in new wood flooring). So this morning I booted ours up and low and behold boom there is the message a lot of developers were reporting. Well we are happy to report that RIM is fully aware of the issue and will be addressing it in the next update.

In a BlackBerry Support forum post, RIM states the following:

Problem

The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha reports the following message:

“Thank you for participating! The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device program has ended. For details on what to do next, please visit developer.BlackBerry.com.”

Cause

The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha has erroneously detected that the alpha program has ended.

Workaround

Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to reboot the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha.

Note:  Out internal development team is aware of this issue, which will be fixed in a future release of the BlackBerry 10 OS for the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha.
