Using BlackBerry Hotspot feature may cost you more “out of bundle” data
With the update of BlackBerry 7.1 to the new BlackBerry 7 devices one of the most welcoming features is the mobile hotspot feature. Need to connect to the internet but don’t have access to a Wi-Fi hotspot? Then activate Mobile Hotspot on your BlackBerry smartphone and create one of your own. All you need is a 3G network and you can wirelessly connect up to 5 Wi-Fi devices to enjoy continuous, private internet coverage on your laptop or tablet. Small precaution though if you are a user from South Africa, your mobile hotspot feature may end up costing you more if your ar not on the correct data plan. With the new mobile hotspot feature your current BlackBerry hotspot will use the standard internet APN. What this means is that you will typically get billed R2 per MB data when using the BlackBerry Mobile Hotspot feature, unless you have purchased the Bolt-On data bundle with lower MB per usage rates.
