Sydney, 29 November 2012 – Research In Motion (RIM), the maker of BlackBerry® smartphones, is inviting gaming developers to participate in the BlackBerry Got Game Port-A-Thon on Wednesday 5th December in Sydney.
This exciting event is designed to help developers get their gaming apps onto the BlackBerry® 10 platform which is being announced on January 30th. The aim is to help local developers port games from other operating systems – in just one day!
With an on-site team of BlackBerry technical experts to get apps up and running on BlackBerry 10, all developers will need to do is bring their gaming apps or a bright idea for a new app.
Registrations are now open for the Sydney event, which is part of a series of live events across the Asia Pacific region, includingBlackBerry® Jam Asia on the 29th and 30th November.
Blackberry Game Port-A-Thon Bonuses
Developers who complete porting on-site will get rewarded instantly and can earn $100 for every gaming app that is approved for sale in Blackberry App World for up to a maximum of 20 apps. Other bonuses include receiving a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device, a prototype device running a beta version of BlackBerry 10 to help developers design and develop apps for BlackBerry, for every Top Arcade, Puzzle and Action game ported on-site.
