Developers can embed reliable, cost-effective capability into mobile apps
NEW YORK – Dec. 11, 2012 – OneTok, the simple and flexible platform for developers building voice-recognition controls into mobile applications, today unveiled a highly accurate new voice search function that allows shoppers using mobile apps to find the products they want quickly and reliably. The new function enables users to find what they need quickly and effortlessly by using smartphones to search websites and online catalogs. Instead of wasting time pecking away at a keyboard, they can simply say what they’re looking for and a OneTok voice search-enabled app will narrow down returned results accurately.
Announced at AppNation IV that opens today in San Francisco, OneTok’s Voice Search Library is aimed at large retailers and other enterprises with extensive product catalogues. Apps with the OneTok Voice Search Library embedded enable users to speak specific product names or categories of products. For example, a shopper using a big-box retailer’s app could say: “I’m looking for 46-inch flat-screen TVs.” The retailer’s app, powered by OneTok’s comprehensive voice-interpretation platform, then quickly delivers all the 46-inch, flat-screen TVs in the catalog to the shopper’s device. “The accuracy and cost-effectiveness of our voice-search solution are significantly higher than any others available in the market today,” said OneTok co-founder and CEO Ben Lilienthal. “A key differentiator is that our technology cancels out background noise from wherever the user is speaking, and we transmit the audio in high-definition, which is truly differentiated.”
Lilienthal said OneTok’s Voice Search Library is available today for iOS and Android mobile devices, with functionality coming soon for Blackberry 10 and Windows 8 devices. Developers can sign up for a OneTok account at http://www.onetok.com. For more information, visit www.onetok.com.
