The Frankfurter General Newspaper (Faz.net) has posted an interview with Thorsten Heins. He shares great information across to the German publication. “But I can say this much: significant for us and unexpectedly high proportion of BlackBerry 10 devices will be purchased by new customers who previously had iPhones or Android smartphones. (Translated from Source)” Moreover he makes mention of BB World, “We started with 70,000 apps, which is an impressive number, and it will soon be 100,000. Moreover, the number of apps in itself is not so important., but of course we are working hard to bring us the most important apps. (Translated from Source)”
Take the lines with a grain of salt, as they are merely translated on Google Translate. Regardless the publication can be read for a nice look into Heins actively talking good about BB10 (as a good CEO should), soon–as their quarterly results come in, we’ll likely see some sales numbers and projections will start coming out, stock will be affected, followed shortly by the US launch of the BlackBerry and likely a few surprises no one is expecting. All we can tell for sure is that BlackBerry is not being transparent, as Heins once again mentions the “ongoing” strategic review. He mentions vertical applications that could be apart of licensing as well as partnership deals that may come from their new platform.
