WinZip now available in BlackBerry World

WinZip is now readily available for BlackBerry 10!

“WinZip, the world’s #1 zip utility, makes it easy to view, open and save zip files on your BlackBerry 10 device, whether they’re attached to an incoming email, downloaded from a web page or opened from an SD memory card.”

I have noticed in the app reviews people complain of 2 things, android port and “BlackBerry 10 let’s you zip and unzip”.

It seems everyone seen the name, ignored the description, tested once, deleted and reviewed… no one bothered to actually read… and if you did and still left a bad review then the extra features are of no use to you.

Winzip is an android port correct, WinZips been developed for android and iOS then place up on their respective marketplaces then it was ported over to BlackBerry following its previous successes… but listen the app does its job, besides you can’t really complain because I don’t see the people leaving bad reviews rushing out to buy WinZip Pro on their pc’s (it was kind of obvious by the screenshots it was an android anyway).

“Native File Manager already does this” true but there is much much more available! the ability to open other file formats and encrypted AES 128 + 256!

“File Support and 3rd Party Integration WinZip for BlackBerry lets you view:
– Photos and images (.jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .gif) – Text files (.rtf, .csv, .txt, .ini, .inf, .bat, .js, .log, .xml,.css, .java, .cs, .h, .m,.cpp,.c,.sql,. properties)
– Web files (htm, .html,.jsp,.asp)

WinZip for BlackBerry lets you open other popular file types in 3rd party apps:
– Word documents (.doc, .docx)
– Excel spreadsheets (.xls, .xlsx)
– PowerPoint presentations (.ppt, .pptx) – PDF files (.pdf)”

Personally this is a must for me and as nice as it would be if it was “Built for BlackBerry” it is definitely a warm welcome to my BlackBerry and I do believe it will be my go to zipping tool…. zzzzzzzzzzzzip!
