Skype updated for BlackBerry 10

Skype has released an update for their Skype Preview application for BlackBerry. This update takes the version to 3.2.439.50 and includes bug fixes and much more. Below is a list of the changes in this update.

Bug fixes in Preview window and when switching cameras during Video calling
Improvements in contact search in Skype Directory
Easy Skype Credit purchase from within the Skype app
Stability improvements and other bug fixes

Did you buy a crappy app from BlackBerry World? Here is how to get a refund!

I know this has happened to me on more then one occasion, you are scorlling through BlackBerry World and you come across a neat application or game. You purchase the app or game and then you realize it is not as it was described in the description. Well normally you would just take that as a loss. Now you can request a refund by visiting “BlackBerry Commerce Refund” This is great news for all of us that have experienced this problem in the past.

BlackBerry Commerce Refund Policy

All Sales are final and Blackberry Commerce’s policy is not to provide refunds subject to the following:

If BlackBerry Commerce does not make the product available for download by you within a reasonable period of time after completion of the purchase, BlackBerry Commerce customer service will, in its sole discretion, either replace your order (by providing the product in a manner that allows you to download the product) or arrange for your purchase price to be refunded.

If, within 90 days of your purchase, BlackBerry Commerce or its service providers disable the operation of the product on your BlackBerry software (other than for breach of an applicable agreement by you) and do not make available within a reasonable period a replacement to such product, BlackBerry Commerce customer service will arrange for your purchase price to be refunded.

If BlackBerry Commerce is required by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction to offer additional refund or warranty rights, BlackBerry Commerce will provide such remedies as required pursuant to such laws and, where permitted, BlackBerry Commerce may elect to provide one or more alternative remedies (such as refund, credit, re-performance of services, or re-provision of products or alternative products). If you feel you have been charged incorrectly you must notify BlackBerry App World customer service, within 30 days of your purchase, at www.BlackBerry.com/support/appworld.

BlackBerry to Add Sponsored Invites to BBM Channels

Ever since BlackBerry Live, we have been hearing a lot on the BBM Channels as well as how BBM will be going cross-platform. Well it seems as though BlackBerry will begin adding “Sponsored Invites” to BBM Channels. BlackBerry published a survey in the BlackBerry Beta Zone on the “Sponsored Invites” below is what they had to say:

Channel owners will be allowed to advertise their Channels by sending invites to BBM users within the channel owner’s target demographic. Users will receive the invite, and be able to preview the Channel, then choose to subscribe or decline the invitation to subscribe. This will be a limited ad unit, with users never receiving more than 3 sponsored invites in a single month.

My Verizon Mobile Update Available in BlackBerry World

Verizon recently updated their mobile app which allows you to check your data usage, make changes to your plan, pay the bill, and add/delete features from the phone. There is not a change log available to see what the exact changes are to the app but we assume that it was updated for the new phones that are coming out at this time.

BlackBerry Enterprise Developer Expert Certification Introduced

BlackBerry announced a program called the BlackBerry Certified Builder, which was aimed towards developers and allows developers to be certified once they pass the program. In addition to this program BlackBerry announced an additional program called the BlackBerry Enterprise Developer Expert. This new exam will prove that you have the upper echelon of knowledge when it comes to dev and design of BlackBerry applications.
