As you can see from our conversation below with DavidST. He states “The rumor was promulgated by one tweet late yesterday, and everyone is running with it. Noone has seen this update come through, and if you go to the link provided on the Verizon Wireless site, it still reflects the old 10.0.9.422 update.”

So until we see something more then just a screen shot this will be considered just a rumor and nothing more.

Here is some news most you you Verizon Wireless customers have been dreaming about. Verizon has finally started rolling out OS 10.1 for the BlackBerry Z10! The update is coming in at 346MB, so you want to make sure you are on WiFi for the download. Verizon_BB_Z10_OS_10.1

So if you have a Z10 on SFR you should dive into settings and check to see if the update has been pushed out to your device yet.  And if you find anything new in this build make sure you drop us a comment to let us know.

Download the leaked OS 10.1.0.2342

Installation Instructions if needed:

Turn off your BlackBerry Z10.

Run the file that you just extracted.

Connect your Z10 to your usb cable and quickly turn it on.

The autloader should connect to your Z10 and start the process.

Sit back, have a coffee or a tea and wait until the process is finished.

When the autoloader has written 100%, the program will terminate and the window will close.

Disconnect your BlackBerry Z10 and wait for it to reboot.

Please note that we do not accept any responsibility for anything this does to your device.  Please do not attempt to load this unless you are comfortable with what you are doing.  You will need a Windows machine to use the loader, but if you do load it drop us a comment letting us know how it runs.

The new BlackBerry® 10.1 Operating System (OS) is now available for download by BlackBerry Z10 smartphone customers in Australia. The BlackBerry 10 update includes new features for the BlackBerry Hub alongside updates to notifications, cursor control and camera.

How to download the operating system update
To update your BlackBerry Z10 smartphone to BlackBerry 10.1, look for the alert in the notifications section of the BlackBerry Hub. Fine Cursor Control

BlackBerry 10.1 makes it easier and more accurate to pinpoint exactly where you want to type. Tap once to bring up the cursor. Grab the blue circle and drag it around to place it exactly where you need it. Tap either side of the circle to move left or right by just one character. It’s easy to move around with speed and precision.

Camera

BlackBerry 10 lets you create the perfect shot by moving parts of your picture backwards and forwards in time with Time Shift mode. BlackBerry 10.1 adds an HDR shooting mode for beautiful images in tricky lighting conditions. A standard image takes a picture at one exposure level. Where you have high contrast between light and dark areas of the photo, fine details can be lost.
