With BlackBerry Live set to kick off on Tuesday, we will be flying into Orlando tomorrow to get all set up to bring you the most update BlackBerry coverage. Sasktel And Fido, Now Also Offering Q10 Pre Orders

It was only a matter of time before more Canadian carriers announced the pre-orders for the Q10. Along with Telus Rogers and Bell Canada, Sasktel and Fido are gearing up for the launch of the Q10. On Fido’s website the Q10 is shown as “Available Soon”. You can pre-order from Fido for $350 on a two year contract. Check out the link here. There are no direct links to pre-order from SaskTel but you can put in a pre-order in one of their stores with a deposit of $50.

SaskTel decides to skip latest BlackBerry Z10 OS update due to “negative impact on roaming capabilities”

Recently the majority of the Canadian carriers, that are selling the Z10, have pushed out the latest OS update. However in an odd turn of events, SaskTel has made it clear that they are skipping the latest OS version. SaskTel is claiming that the update will have a “it will have a negative impact on the roaming capabilities.”

There is no word on what exactly the “negative impact” is, whether it is dropped calls or reception issues, but SaskTel is working with BlackBerry to release an update sometime in “late April”. It is too bad that Z10 owner on SaksTel are missing out on the battery improvements and other fixes that BlackBerry implemented with the latest update, but we expect they will be included the update that eventually gets rolled out.

All Major Canadian Carriers Confirm February 5th Release Date For The BlackBerry Z10

The major Canadian carriers (Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Koodo,Fido and SaskTel) have now all confirmed availability for the BlackBerry Z10. The confirmed date for all three carries is February 5th in stores. This of course also means that if you pre-ordered a device that will also be the day you should be able to pick it up in store. The pricing is pretty much the same across the board approx. $139.99 on a three-year agreement. Hit the break for links to all the carriers.

TBooth and WirelessWave added to list to Pre-Order BlackBerry 10!

If you’re in Canada and yet to have preordered your new BlackBerry 10 smartphone, well a few more retailers have gotten in line for you to reserve your spot to owning the much anticipated device. TBooth and WirelessWave have been added to the list. You can go to any local retailer and reserve your BlackBerry 10 smartphone. The device has been listed as “coming soon” but know January 30 is just around the corner.

Regional Carrier SaskTel Confirms They Will Carry BlackBerry 10

Now that the big three Canadian carriers (Bell, Rogers and TELUS) have said that they will be carrying BlackBerry 10 devices, it is the regional carrier’s turns. The first up to the plate is SaskTel who has now listed BlackBerry 10 as “coming soon”. While SaskTel doesn’t have a pre-registration page up they do have a full-page dedicated to the new operating system.

It is nice to see that regional carriers will also be carrying BlackBerry 10 devices, as we will of course keep you up to date on release dates. We expect that we will receive that information when we attend the BlackBerry 10 launch happening on January 30th.

BlackBerry PlayBook 16GB Drops To As Low As $49.99 Outright From SaskTel

There have been some pretty good deals come about today for the BlackBerry PlayBook. It seems that SaskTel in Canada may have the best deal yet, as they have dropped the 16GB WiFi version down to an amazing $49.99 outright.

SaskTel has also dropped the price on the 32GB and 64GB models, that will run you $79.99 and $99.99. Now remember that SaskTel is a regional carrier, so you pretty much have to be living in Saskatchewan to take advantage of this one, but you can check out the details here.

Here we are in December already… Where did the time go??? We here at NerdBerry want to celebrate the holidays in a HUGE way! Starting today and ending on December 23 we are going to be running a Holiday Photo Contest from RIM and NerdBerry!!! We have TWO BlackBerry prize packs up for grabs. The two prize packs consist of one T-Mobile Branded BlackBerry Bold 9900 and one 32GB BlackBerry PlayBook!! We have put a lot of thought in to this contest and we have come up with the Holiday Photo Contest!

How do you enter? Of course you MUST do the regular stuff such as – “Like” our Facebook page, Follow us on Twiter, Subscribe to our YouTube Channel and leave a comment letting us know the top three have been completed…

Because this is such a huge contest we are going to throw in one more thing, don’t fret it is not hard. All you have to do is take a picture of your current smartphone next to your favorite holiday item such as your Christmas tree, favorite food, favorite ornament, favorite holiday movie, etc.. Send it in to us with a caption explaining why you chose that particular holiday item. Remember be creative, get your family involved after all it is the holidays and most of all have fun doing it!
