So if you have been holding out on the BlackBerry Q10 your wait is almost over!

In line with what BlackBerry said last week about the BlackBerry Z10 return rumors, Verizon has confirmed that it is not true.“after 14 days, quality performance has been in line with other smartphone launches.” This rumor has caused a lot of grief for BlackBerry because it gives the impression that the Z10 is of poor quality and doesn’t compare to other smart phones. Making claims like this could hurt BlackBerry’s bottom line and they may end up filing legal action.

Charter Equity Research’s Ed Snyder said “It’s very difficult for any analyst to get that kind of information, and it’s likely not indicative of anything endemic.” In other words, someone took a tiny truth and it spread out of control.

He went out further to say “If there’s an investigation, it’s much more likely BlackBerry has that kind of information” about return rates, and would be able to present the data to regulators.” The Z10 hasn’t be out in the USA a month yet, so after that point BlackBerry can compile a chart for returns/purchases to shut up the naysayers.

Ever since getting my hand on the BlackBerry Z10 one of my favorite features is BBL Screen Share. Verizon aka Big Red has posted a great commercial showing off BlackBerry Messenger’s Screen Share. Screen Share makes life easy whether it be for work, play or tech support.

If you bought a Verizon branded BlackBerry Z10 today you may have noticed that there was an update for the OS waiting for you.  The update is the software release 10.0.9.422, and the OS version is 10.0.9.2743.  There has been some confusion with the Z10′s OS release numbers, but all you need to know is that if it prompts for an update you will want to go and do that before completing the setup of your Z10.

We have not confirmed what is new in this OS, but you can imagine that it includes some bug fixes and such.  It will be interesting to see if we see any noticeable difference between the American carrier branded Z10′s now that they are all available.

Verizon BB10 Z10

We recently told you about the “largest ever single purchase order in BlackBerry’s history” from at the time an unknown vendor. Well according to reports from AllThingsD they have learn that the vendor has been revealed to be a third party vender BrightStar. Brightstar handles most of Verizon Wireless’ big-box retail distribution.

“Our checks indicate the order was from Brightstar, whom Verizon is relying upon to handle the big-box retail and dealer agent channels,” Detwiler Fenton managing director Mark Gerber told AllThingsD. “It suggests Verizon doesn’t believe this will be a strong seller, since it normally tries to allocate hot product on its own.”

According to AllThingsD they suggest that Verizon doesn’t feel confident in the launch of BlackBerry 10. They feel because the purchase was made through a third party dealer that if the launch is unsuccessful they could push unsold reserves off unto BrightStar presenting no risk to Big Red. Which seems odd that the company would make such a large purchase order and then get exclusivity on the white version of the BlackBerry Z1o. Verizon Wireless will be releasing the BlackBerry Z10 this Thursday, March 28.

Last week we told you that Costco was going to be selling the Z10. At the time it wasn’t apparent who was going to sell it through Costco. Now they have opened up the pre-orders and they are offering it through AT&T and Verizon.
The cost is $199 on a two year contract, and it shows as a savings of $79.99. Only the black version available in the pre-order. I also noticed that Verizon is listed but not T-Mobile yet. It is also being sold for $199 on a two year contract but you can pick from either black or white.
