While this is great news for BlackBerry, there is a down side to it all.  The growth of Android and iOS on Vodafone in South Africa are surpassing that of BlackBerry.  As you can see both Android and iOS have recently seen a growth of 200,000+ units over the last two months, where as BlackBerry has only seen a growth of 100,000 devices.  Hopefully the introduction of BlackBerry 10 devices, like the lower cost Q5, into the emerging markets will aid in a rebound of growth for BlackBerry.

Thanks to a tip we know know that Vodafone Spain is pushing out OS 10.0.10.648 for the BlackBerry Z10. We literally just saw this very same OS leaked for the BlackBerry Z10 London STL100-1/Dev Alpha OS. Now once again this is an official OS and not a leak for the BlackBerry Z10. You can pull the OS update OTA to your device.

At O2 the phone can be bought for 639 € outright. But they are also offering 1 and 2 year contracts. For more info, check out their website.

Unfortunately, right now the Vodafone website is down for maintenance so I can’t say how much they are selling the phone for. When the site is up and running you can check it out at this link here.

And T-Mobile Germany has plans to launch the Z10 later this month.

The app will work for monthly subscribers as well as Pay-As-You-Go ones, and is definitely a must have for any Z10 owners out there on the Vodafone network.  I know that I always use my carriers self-serve app, and recommend any smartphone to grab one from their carrier if available.  You can grab My Vodafone for the BlackBerry Z10 in BlackBerry World.

Vodafone Ghana also announced the introduction of a 1.5GB data plan to go along with the launch of the Z10.  They hope that this new data plan will help customers get more from their smartphones.

‘We know our customers are driven by innovation and like to set the pace for others to follow. They expected Vodafone to be the first to deliver one of the most sought after handsets in the world and we have not disappointed. I have seen the handset and can say, that our customers will not be disappointed.’

We are continuing to see the Blackberry Z10 get launched in smaller markets around the world.  This push outside of North America will hopefully help to garner some new customers for BlackBerry.
