BlackBerry Q10 Landing on WIND Mobile Tomorrow

The BlackBerry Q10 continues to make itself more available to more and more customers, the BlackBerry Q10 will be available for purchase tomorrow June 7th, and you can buy the device outright for $649 outright and $349 on the WINDTab. You can currently only get the Q10 in the Black variant, the white version will be added to the lineup at a later date.

Wind Mobile Yet To Launch Q10 But Prices It At $649 Outright

Wind Mobile’s site still says “coming soon” for the Q10, but at least now we having some pricing. And color choices. You will be able to purchase the device for $649 outright when it finally launches and a choice between black and white.
Rogers was the only carrier to offer white.
There is no official launch date, but with the price listed, it should be pretty soon.

CRTC Makes Some Big Changes That Are Actually Beneficial To Canadian Wireless Consumers

The CRTC has gone and made some major changes to how cell phones and contracts will be handled in Canada.

One of the major points that I like about the new rules, is that you can terminate your contract after two years with no cancellation fees. You would only owe what is left on the device itself.

As a Canadian wireless user, I find certain things to be kind of unfair to the consumer. One of them being, the 3 year contract. Pretty much every mobile telecom here does 3 years. And I swear, we must be the last country on the planet that does. Yes, I know that we have less people per square inch, spread across this huge land. But 3 years is a long time. One could argue that it is the subsidy of the phone that makes it cheaper in the end. But I think if the two year contract cost was a little higher, it would work out better in the end. Contacts like this suck, when you run into problems and the only way out is to pay. Two years is a respectable number.

To clarify though, the CRTC isn’t saying that Rogers, Telus, Bell,etc, have to do away with 3 year contracts. Just that at two years, you won’t have to pay those dreaded fees they charge for canceling the contract. Most of them now let you pay off a tab.

New rules:
Terminate their wireless contracts after two years without cancellation fees, even if they have signed on for a longer term.
Cap extra data charges at $50 a month and international data roaming charges at $100 a month to prevent bill shock.
Have their cellphones unlocked after 90 days, or immediately if they paid for the device in full.
Return their cellphones, within 15 days and specific usage limits, if they are unhappy with their service.
Accept or decline changes to the key terms of a fixed-term contract (i.e., two-year), and receive a contract that is easy to read and understand.

The new rules don’t come into effect until December 2 2013. And that is only new contracts.

BlackBerry Q10 Pre-Registration for WIND Now Open

Finally Canadian carrier WIND has hoisted their pre-registration page up for all of you that are interested in the BlackBerry Q10. The expected launch date is still April 30th for Canada. No news on the US launch as of right now. No official release date for the Q10 on WIND as of right now. You can learn more by heading on over to WIND.

WIND Mobile adds support for carrier billing in BlackBerry World

If you own a BlackBerry Z10 on WIND Mobile you can now select carrier billing for all your purchases. The charge will get added to your monthly bill, which is nice and helps out those that don’t want to use a credit card or PayPal.

To change your BlackBerry World billing arrangement all you have to do is open BlackBerry World’s settings and change the billing method to WIND. This will also work on older BlackBerry devices as well, so no worries if you haven’t upgraded to a Z10 yet.

BlackBerry Z10 Will Be Available on February 27th from WIND Mobile

If Wind Mobile is your carrier of choice and you have been holding out for your own BlackBerry Z10 well rest assure you will be able to pick up your device on February 27 and price points you ask well here you go: $299 on the WINDtab with the WIND 40 plan, $399 on the WINDtab with the WIND 30 plan, $499 on the WINDtab with the WIND 20 plan, or $599 outright. One more thing there will only be black, BlackBerry Z10 available on the 27th, with “the white version will follow shortly after launch.”

Koodo, WIND And Mobilicity All Join In On the BlackBerry 10 Action

We have seen all the major carriers, plus some regional carriers in Canada state that they will be carrying BlackBerry 10 when it is released. Today the three smaller nationwide carriers have put their feet into the BlackBerry 10 ring. Koodo, WIND and Mobilicity have all declared that BlackBerry 10 is “coming soon”.

So it looks like pretty much carrier in Canada will be carrying at least one of the BlackBerry 10 devices some time in the next few months.
