Here we are in December already… Where did the time go??? We here at NerdBerry want to celebrate the holidays in a HUGE way! Starting today and ending on December 23 we are going to be running a Holiday Photo Contest from RIM and NerdBerry!!! We have TWO BlackBerry prize packs up for grabs. The two prize packs consist of one T-Mobile Branded BlackBerry Bold 9900 and one 32GB BlackBerry PlayBook!! We have put a lot of thought in to this contest and we have come up with the Holiday Photo Contest!

How do you enter? Of course you MUST do the regular stuff  such as – “Like” our Facebook page, Follow us on Twiter, Subscribe to our YouTube Channel and leave a comment letting us know the top three have been completed…

Because this is such a huge contest we are going to throw in one more thing, don’t fret it is not hard.  All you have to do is take a picture of your current smartphone next to your favorite holiday item such as your Christmas tree, favorite food, favorite ornament, favorite holiday movie, etc.. Send it in to us with a caption explaining why you chose that particular holiday item. Remember be creative, get your family involved after all it is the holidays and most of all have fun doing it!

Submit your photos via email to info@nerdberry.net Using the subject “Holiday Photo Contest from RIM and NerdBerry!!”.  Photo’s must be received by no later then December 23rd 2012. On December 24th the NerdBerry team will post all of the photo’s and captions received and we will announce the two winners on December 25, 2012.

Vietnamese BlackBerry developers were put through a seamless 40-hour challenge where they explore & experience the upcoming BlackBerry 10 and compete with each other to build apps for the new BlackBerry platform. The contest kicked off on October 19 attracting 23 teams comprising of over 130 professional developers, students and BlackBerry enthusiasts who struggle to give their best in 40 hours to conceptualize and build an application for the BlackBerry 10 platform using frameworks such as the BlackBerry 10 Adobe AIR SDK, BlackBerry 10 Native SDK or BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK.

The winning team walked away with an all-expense paid trip to BlackBerry Jam Asia in Bangkok on November 29-30, where they will be pitting against nine other teams from the region for the title of Asia Pacific champion.

According to a recent survey conducted by Appcelerator and IDC, enterprise developers planning to develop a mobile business application soared from 29 percent in the fourth quarter of 2010 to 43 percent in the second quarter of 2012.*

The series of day-long events organized for BlackBerry 10 Jam World Tour – Enterprise Edition will feature seminars and workshops geared towards specifically addressing the unique demands faced by enterprise developers, including how to provide employees with easy and secure access to company intranets, workflow systems, databases, and other confidential in-house data. Hopefully we see some exciting announcement during the keynote, something we have seen in the past from RIM.  However the question remains as to whether or not Heins will be showing off a BlackBerry 10 device or not.  In the past we have seen the PlayBook shown off, and then not releases for several months, so it would not be unheard of for RIM to show a not 100% complete device.  Since RIM has been showing off BlackBerry 10 devices to the “chosen ones” amongst the media, as well as to carrier executive, I should hope that developers at least get a quick look at what we can expect.

We know that current BlackBerry 7 apps will  not be c compatible with the new BlackBerry 10 devices, so it would be nice to see something for BB7 devices get released……perhaps Theme Studio 7???  If RIM does not release Theme Studio 7 during BlackBerry 10 Jam Americas I have truly lost my trust in them.  They have continually postponed the release of Theme Studio, and with the delay of BlackBerry 10, I think it is about time they got it out the door.

We have a few weeks to wait to see what RIM has up their sleeves for this BB10 Jam, but I know there are a lot of people who are expecting some big things.  What do you think we will see come out of this event?  Let us know in the comments.
