BlackBerry Music Mania Concert & Carnival Starts Ball Rolling for 2013

To bring in the New Year right thousands of BlackBerry fans attended the BlackBerry Music Mania Concert and Carnival in Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam. In concert to bring the year into a bang short of the BlackBerry 10 launch, was the popular Indonesia band, Sheila On 7! “We are very excited to be back here in Malaysia for this concert and to be able to welcome the new year with our fans and BlackBerry. Their support throughout the years has been fantastic and we hope we gave them a performance they deserved,” said Akhdiyat Duta Modjo, frontman for the band. BlackBerry Music Mania Concert & Carnival Ushers In 2013 In Style!

Eight-hour concert extravaganza featuring the best local performers and Sheila On 7 kick starts a brand new year for BlackBerry fans and customers

Thousands of BlackBerry customers and music fans thronged to Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam, on New Year’s Eve for the BlackBerry Music Mania Concert and Carnival.

The concert featured a strong line-up of top local bands and performers which included the likes of Hujan, Bunkface, 6ixth Sense, Joe Flizzow, Altimet, Kyoto Protocol and Sofazr.

Oh! Chentaku, Meet Uncle Hussain, Go Gerila!, SonaOne, Ila Damia and Zamaera completed the line-up.

The ever-popular band from Indonesia, Sheila On 7, also performed a 45-minute set, belting out a number of hit songs much to the delight of fans, some whom turned out as early as 1pm.

“We are very excited to be back here in Malaysia for this concert and to be able to welcome the new year with our fans and BlackBerry. Their support throughout the years has been fantastic and we hope we gave them a performance they deserved,” said Akhdiyat Duta Modjo, frontman for the band.

Apart from featuring a stellar cast of award-winning and chart-topping bands and artistes, the BlackBerry Music Mania also featured a carnival running concurrently with the concert at the outdoor area of Stadium Malawati.

Fans were treated to BMX stunts and breakdance performances by the award-winning WAKAKA Crew as well as various exciting games and activities. Anugerah Juara Lagu finalist, Amir Jahari, also performed for the carnival crowd.

The BlackBerry Music Mania Concert and Carnival is organized by Tempus Communications and is supported by BlackBerry.

Here we are in December already… Where did the time go??? We here at NerdBerry want to celebrate the holidays in a HUGE way! Starting today and ending on December 23 we are going to be running a Holiday Photo Contest from RIM and NerdBerry!!! We have TWO BlackBerry prize packs up for grabs. The two prize packs consist of one T-Mobile Branded BlackBerry Bold 9900 and one 32GB BlackBerry PlayBook!! We have put a lot of thought in to this contest and we have come up with the Holiday Photo Contest!

How do you enter? Of course you MUST do the regular stuff such as – “Like” our Facebook page, Follow us on Twiter, Subscribe to our YouTube Channel and leave a comment letting us know the top three have been completed…

Because this is such a huge contest we are going to throw in one more thing, don’t fret it is not hard. All you have to do is take a picture of your current smartphone next to your favorite holiday item such as your Christmas tree, favorite food, favorite ornament, favorite holiday movie, etc.. Send it in to us with a caption explaining why you chose that particular holiday item. Remember be creative, get your family involved after all it is the holidays and most of all have fun doing it!

Submit your photos via email to info@nerdberry.net Using the subject “Holiday Photo Contest from RIM and NerdBerry!!”. Photo’s must be received by no later then December 23rd 2012. On December 24th the NerdBerry team will post all of the photo’s and captions received and we will announce the two winners on December 25, 2012.

Over 12,000 BlackBerry and Globe users gathered last July 11, 2012 for the party of a lifetime – the Nicki Minaj: Pink Friday Tour in Manila. The event was organized by BlackBerry and Globe Telecom to show appreciation for all the support the Filipino users have given them.

The gathering was phenomenal and ended with Nicki Minaj declaring that the Philippines now has a special place in her heart. Check out this video chronicling the Nicki Minaj experience from her arrival to the press conference and finally the Pink Friday concert.

RIM to Begin Airing ‘Summer Daze with BlackBerry’ to UK Viewers!

As a apart of their new marketing campaign RIM is going to the heart of its consumer focus of 18-25 year old with a new ‘structured reality’ TV series entitled the “Summer Daze with Blackberry” it will air on Channel 4, that will follow a group of music fans around to summer festivals,
“The eight-part ‘Summer Daze with BlackBerry’ service will focus on several 18-25 year olds. BlackBerry will offer multi-platform coverage with an online hub for the show on its site, offering exclusive content.
Richard Ashley, UK marketing director at BlackBerry-manufacturer Research in Motion, said: ‘Celebrating people who make things happen goes to the heart of our brand.”

BlackBerry has previously run an ad-funded, music-related TV show called Live and Lost with Blackberry, which featured music artists attempting to travel hundreds of miles to their concerts with only the help of fans.

Kim Kardashian is Keeping Up With Her BlackBerry Devices

While I was literally Keeping Up With The Kardashians today, I spotted a little bit of happy happy joy joy in the middle of the latest episode: the Porsche Design P’9981 from BlackBerry sitting elegantly on the counter beside Kim Kardashian. I had nearly missed this sweet little cameo and of course had to pause the show to snap a picture before I could even think about continuing.

For as long as I can remember, Kim K. has been a BlackBerry abuser but this was the first time I’ve spotted her with this fabulous piece of smartphone technology. The last time I believe a picture was captured of her using a BlackBerry, she was still glued to her Bold 9900/9930. Regardless of which BlackBerry device she currently calls her own, it’s good to see that some of today’s most frequently watched celebrities are still rocking their BlackBerrys with pride.

Even her mother, Kris Jenner-Kardashian, has a BlackBerry, which she is seen using most often. Unfortunately she also has an iPhone, but a funny thing I noticed while watching earlier today was that she openly complained about how the device just wasn’t working. I couldn’t help but let a little chuckle out at that.

I’m happy to know that there are still a few people shining bright in the eye of the public that aren’t switching phones just because of what’s “cool” and staying with a product that’s right for them. Seeing celebs and powerful business people (especially women) like numerous Kardashian women, Beyonce and many others using BlackBerry devices just proves how much better it is to own one while dominating the business world. Perhaps with the release of the much anticipated BlackBerry 10, this trend can make its way through many other big companies.

Lady Gaga – Gaga for BlackBerry?!?

Lady Gaga has posted a mirror picture of her makeup-free face via Twitter. As you can see from the image on this post she is rocking an old school BlackBerry Curve 8520! Which makes me wonder why doesn’t she have a Bold 9900?

The wearing of no makeup apparently channels what she says, “vow of laying low and going under the radar for awhile,” by claiming ”The latest thing I do is I don’t read a damn thing,” she added about limiting her media intake. “No press, no television, if my mom calls and says, ‘Did you hear about?’ I don’t want to know nothing about anything that is going on in relation to music. I shut it all off.”
