Bleacher Report Team Stream Released for BlackBerry 10

Bleacher Report stated a while back that they would be releasing an app specific to the new BB10 devices that were being released. Team Stream has been released and is now available for free from App World. The app is getting rave reviews from the people that are downloading it. The app gives you access to all of your favorite teams in one place without having to go to multiple websites or open multiple apps. It stretches across all of the major sporting leagues allowing to access everything in one place.

Great Big War Game for BlackBerry Q10

The release of the Q10 has been moving along nicely thru the Canadian carriers and with that comes the need for apps for the core users. A lot of things from the Z10 are compatible with the Q10 as well as apps that are specific to just that device. One of the games that is shared across the platform is Great Big War Game. This is your classic Army Strategy game released by touch gameplay that allows the user to control an Army and General as you use “strategery” to defeat your enemies. This game is very affordable at $2.99 and is available for both the the Z10 and the Q1o.

Fast Browser for BlackBerry PlayBook

Many of our readers are looking for ways to improve their experience when it comes to using their BlackBerry products. One thing that I look for as a user is ways to improve the speed on the devices that I use. I have given up hope on speeding up my 9650 but I still look for ways to improve speed on my PlayBook. One thing that people have constantly complained about on the PlayBook is the rendering speed when it comes to browsing online. Fast Browser by BumbleBee Computing does just that. The app is designed to speed up the loading of pages as well as give users plenty of added features that are not readily available with the native browser that is offered by BlackBerry. It is built using the native engine but makes various improvements to the end user experience.

The features of Fast Browser are as follows:

Fast Mode
-A fast mode (blue lightning icon) is provided as default that optimizes for speed when dealing with web pages that are text and image and don’t require the full web engine rendering capabilities. For pages that need it, tap once on blue lightning icon to toggle to full mode.

Powerful Tabs
-Launch up-to 6 simultaneous web sessions similar to what you can do using a desktop browser with the built-in tab support. Each of the web sessions are live and run in parallel leveraging the powerful multi-tasking capabilites of the BlackBerry® PlayBook™.
-Use a tab to play YouTube music in the background, another to browse the latest news, another to look at real-time updates of stock prices, and yet other to read your favorite RSS feeds.
-Switching between tabs is instantaneous and easy to do. Just tap on the tab you want in the icon list of tabs at the bottom of the screen. Adding and removing tabs is just as easy.

Full-screen mode
-Remove all the browser navigation controls so that you can have the full screen to view your web pages. Simply top-bezel swipe to enter into full-screen and do the same to go back to normal mode.

In-page instant search
-Search within the web page by typing on the URL bar. As you type, all matches on the page are highlighted.

Quick access google search
-Quickly access the google search engine by typing on the URL bar and hitting enter. Fast Browser will auto-detect if it is a search term or a URL and will take the appropriate action.

Optimized for easy-of-use
-Fast Browser keeps track of your most visited websites and presents the top 25 in a scroll list of thumbnails that you can quickly select when you start a new tab.

Favorites Bookmarks
-Add an unlimited amount of bookmarks by selecting the favorite button. A scroll list of thumbnails of your favorite websites is presented when you start a new tab.

There are some great things that this app does but there are some areas that need some improvement as well. The developer is very in touch with the users and welcomes comments and requests.

There are some improvements that the Developer is planning on in the near future as well as frequent updates to Fast Browser.

AlphaWave is Now Available for the BlackBerry Z10

For those of you that were born in the Era of the arcade games and Galaga there is a new game that has been released for the Z10 that will bring you back to the days of the past. AlphaWave is a arcade space shooter that harkens back to the days of old. Developed by Hardline Studios, who have proclaimed that they too are gamers, AlphaWave packs multiple levels of action packed shooting with many different enemies to keep you on your toes.

The game has unique enemies, final bosses to end the stage with a bang, and a completely original score that sets it apart from all of the other space shooter games that are on the market at this time. Zara Releases a New Shopping App for BlackBerry 10

Fashion retailer Zara has developed and released their own BlackBerry 10 shopping App. The app has been developed to for all users across the globe. The app allows access to the entire shopping catalog that Zara has as well as allow users to scan bar codes inside the store and allow users to log into their own account, add items to the cart, and pay for them from their own account.

Color Oil Game for BlackBerry 10.

Color Oil is a new game that is available for BlackBerry 10. the object of the game is to make all of the oil on the screen the same color. There are controls on the bottom of the screen to allow you to change the colors of the oil. If you are unsure of how to play the game there is a tutorial that you can watch to understand exactly how to play the game.

SiteBook for BlackBerry PlayBook

One issue that has plagued PlayBook owners is the absence of bookmarks in the browser. There hasn’t been any options available to help store the bookmarks on the PlayBook until now. SiteBook is a new app available that does just that.

SiteBook allows you to create and organize your website bookmarks, notes and tasks:

- Add items as websites, notes or tasks
- Tap a website item to open it in the Browser
- Launch SiteBook immediately before or after launching your Browser, and it will always be just a single swipe away while browsing the web
- Create custom categories to organize your items
- Filter your items by category
- Export your items as text files
- Backup and restore your data from an external file

8Tracks Now Available for the BlackBerry PlayBook

8Tracks a popular internet radio option has ported their app to BlackBerry 10 as well as the Playbook. 8Tracks has been around for a while but has just recently ported their app over to BlackBerry. The app allows you to listen to music that was uploaded by other people or you can create your own mixes consisting of 8 tracks. The app is available thru App World for free and there is support for the PlayBook and the new z10.

BlackBerry App World Carrier Billing Up and Running for WIND Mobile

Back in December WIND Mobile announced that they would be offering carrier billing to their customers. Well almost a month to the day carrier billing for BlackBerry App World is now available to WIND BlackBerry users! WIND Mobile made the announcement on Twitter stating “Now you can download apps from App World & charge it directly to your monthly bill or prepaid credit!”

This is great news for WIND Mobile customers espcially since WIND will also be launching BlackBerry 10 devices this year.“WIND Mobile is excited to confirm that they will be offering BlackBerry 10 at launch in Canada and will be announcing pre-registration very soon.”
