Selfridges sold record numbers of the BlackBerry Q10 via its in-store Carphone Warehouse concession ahead of the device going on general release on 30 April. Carphone Warehouse is predicting a similar level of interest for the BlackBerry Q10 in white and has ordered extra stock to meet expected demand.

Graham Stapleton, Chief Operating Officer at Carphone Warehouse says: “The Q10 has been hugely popular since we launched it less than a month ago and we’re expecting that the device will become even more desirable to customers now that a white version is available. LONDON, 29th April, 2013 – Carphone Warehouse predicts that the BlackBerry® Q10 smartphone will be a sell-out following the bumper sales this weekend and confirms that it has brought in extra stock to satisfy anticipated demand. Selfridges sold record numbers of the smartphone over the weekend via its in-store Carphone Warehouse concession ahead of the smartphone going on general release across all of Carphone Warehouse’s 800 stores tomorrow.

To start Selfridges has an exclusive on the Q10 in the UK until Monday, and many of the people there buying were most likely folks looking to buy as many units as possible to export around the world.  Regardless of these facts if the rumors are true and Selfridges did sell 2000 units in 90 minutes that works out to 22.2 Q10′s being sold every minute.  There have even been reports that people were still waiting in line after they sold out waiting to see when the next stock shipment would arrive.

Hopefully we will see this kind of enthusiasm and sales when the Q10 makes its way to North America next week when it launches in Canada on May 1st.

If you are in the UK and have been waiting patiently, or not so patiently, for the BlackBerry Q10 to get released that time is very near.  Today you can now pre-order the BlackBerry Q10 from Carphone Warehouse, and the device is expected to be releases sometime around the end of April.

The majority of carriers in the UK will be carrying the Q10, as we already know that EE, T-Mobile, Orange, O2, Three and TalkMobile.  There is definitely  no shortage of choice when it comes to what carrier you want to get your Q10 on.

I had some hands on time with the BlackBerry Q10 and it was amazing, being a BlackBerry Bold user I really enjoyed using the keypad. If you are a BlackBerry fan in the UK this is probably some good news.  The online retailer The Carphone Warehouse has now listed the BlackBerry 9860 as “coming soon”.  This is some really good news for those of you that have been clamoring for a high quality all touch BlackBerry.  After getting some hands on with the Torch 9860 I would highly recommend it to anyone that is thinking about getting it.  There isn’t a ton of information on the site, but you can register to be notified when the Torch 9860 is available for order.  if you are in the UK and have some serious interest in this one I suggest you head on over to Carphone Warehouse, and register today!
