There are requirements regarding the plan that you sing up with, but for a $139.99 for a white Z10 it is worth looking into.

Now if you have pre-ordered with Rogers you can still go and cancel your pre-order at rogers.com/reserve, and then reserve a white Z10 instead. Now of course with pre-orders you are only guaranteed to have a device within 15 days of launch, but I am sure Rogers will do everything they ca to fulfill the orders.

There were also promotions available to customers.   The biggest promotion was the ability to receive 50% off of a smartphone if you were one of the first 250 people in the line.  Additionally the store also offered discounts on accessories. That explains the line that formed outside the store.

We knew the price cuts were come according to Q2 earnings call on Sept. 15th, however these cuts are not by RIM they are coming from the retailer level. Here is what RIM had to say:

“The official retail price of BlackBerry PlayBook has not changed.  However, as mentioned on the Q2 earnings call on Sept. 15th,  we have a number promotional plans in place for the fall with our retail partners that are intended to drive sell-through and increased adoption of the BlackBerry PlayBook.  We are already starting to see some of these promotions being implemented in the form of instant rebates and gift cards within the consumer channel, and expect these promotions to continue into the holiday season.  The BlackBerry PlayBook has established itself as a high-performance tablet, and we are confident that these activities, along with the upcoming software upgrade, BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0, will help to generate an increase in demand and sell through of the BlackBerry PlayBook over the upcoming months.”

RIM is working with retailers to set up instant savings and mail-in rebates. If you have not picked up a PlayBook are you planing on getting it at theses low prices?

If you have been waiting to pick up a PlayBook of your own, now may be the time to take the plunge.  Best Buy has put all 3 models of the WiFi tablet on sale, with prices ranging from $449.99 to $549.99.  The 16GB is $50 off which brings down the price to the $449.99 mark, while the 32GB and 64GB are both on sale for $549.99 with $50 being taken off the 32GB version and $150 off the 64GB.  Not sure why Best Buy would make the 32 and 64GB versions the same price, unless they are just looking to clear out stock.  But if you were debating the 32GB version then I would definitely grab the 64GB is you can.  If you are interested in taking advantage of this deal you can grab a PlayBook of your own from Best Buy.
