Word Soup for BlackBerry 10 updated – Adds FREE version

Word Soup for BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry PlayBook has been updated to version 1.4. This update brings a FREE version of Word Soup as well. Word Soup is a word-creation game with a tactical twist. Create words within the grid of scrambled letters. Each word created is removed from the grid and the letters above fall into the gaps. By tilting your device, you can slide the tiles left or right, creating new word combinations.

With careful play, letters can be strategically brought into play and used to create longer words. You score bonus points if you successfully clear the grid of all letters. The starting grid is randomly generated, so no two games should ever be the same.

Local highscore tables track Longest Words, Best Words, Highest Scores and more. Word Soup Free also features Scoreloop Leaderboards for a global challenge.

Sage Fusion is now “Built for BlackBerry”

Back at the begging of the month we let you know about Indie game developer Kidalang bringing their popular game Sage Fusion to BlackBerry 10. Well Kidalang has sent us an email to let us know that their game has been approved for “Built for BlackBerry” Status. Currently the application is not showing in BlackBerry World as Built for BlackBerry as of yet.

Fusion has received an average 4.5 stars user review on Apple App Store in the US market and several positive reviews from iOS game reviewers.

iFanzine (5.0/5.0) : “Sage Fusion is a title that easily contends for the role of most intelligent literature on an iDevice that doesn’t also happen to be an eBook.”
Capsule Computer (7.5/10): a game that “has a great visual style, a nice battle system and is quite long considering it’s just ‘Chapter 1.’ All in all, I recommend exploring the Galactic Union.”

A lot of things from the Z10 are compatible with the Q10 as well as apps that are specific to just that device. One of the games that is shared across the platform is Great Big War Game. This is your classic Army Strategy game released by touch gameplay that allows the user to control an Army and General as you use “strategery” to defeat your enemies. Texas Hold’em King Gets An Update With A Major New Feature

Magmic has updated their Texas Hold’em King game app to v1.1. And with this update comes private tables. Using the NFC or BBM on your phone you can add people to your own private table. This new feature is for VIP players only.

How the tables work:

You can invite up to 5 friends to your table
Tables will become public after 10 minutes so you and your friends can play against the rest of the world!
VIPs only! In order to reserve a private table you must be a highroller. Only casino members with 100k chips or more can get their own table!

Oink Oink, Pigs In Trees Now Available For BlackBerry 10

Pigs In Trees has been brought over from iOS and can be downloaded for BlackBerry 10 devices. Apparently, in this world, pigs live in trees instead of on farms. And woodpeckers are trying to take over the poor little piggies home. Which seems unfair to the woodpeckers because they love wood and all. But, the piggies have to take care of their trees, and the best way they know how is by flying in planes at the birds. If that doesn’t peak your curiosity, I don’t know what will.

Cineplex’s Timeplay App Makes Its Way To BlackBerry 10

Cineplex is now offering their TimePlay app to BlackBerry 10 devices. TimePlay is an interactive game app that you play against other people and could win prizes. You download the app, then when you are at the movies, a Cineplex theatre, a game shows up right before the previews. Anyone who has the app can join in. It usually is movie related trivia, about actors, movies etc. Even if you don’t win a prize, they send you offers you might not get otherwise.
