2-Bit Heroes comes to BlackBerry 10

For any of you that are fans of side scrolling games, then 2-Bit Heroes is the BlackBerry 10 game for you. In this game you will guide the Heroes from side to side collecting coins as you avoid obstacles all the way. At $0.99 this game is a steal, but you will want to grab it soon as it is currently on sale and will be jumping back up to $1.99 soon.

Currently the game is only available for the Z10, but hopefully they will add Q10 support sometime soon.

BlackBerry 7 Gets Some Love, Update And Receive Certain Premium Apps Free

BlackBerry is encouraging BlackBerry 7 users to update their devices to 7.1. If you do so, there may be a free app in it for you. Looking at the list, North America is not included but there are a bunch of other countries who can benefit from this. Check out the list below to see if your phone can be updated.

A lot of the attention these days is on the release of new apps and games for BlackBerry 10. Well Gameloft hasn’t forgotten about the BlackBerry PlayBook and has released two new free games for our favourite tablet. Devs: Create Awesome 3D Games Using HTML5 and WebGL

Developer you can now take advantage and add more applications to the BlackBerry 10 platform using WebGL and HTML5/WebWorks application. With these tools you can take advantage of the ability to write immersive, high-performance, console-quality, 2D and 3D games accessible directly on your BlackBerry 10 smartphone. Goo Technologies, makers of the Goo Engine for GDC has taken a 100% Web application, written using HTML5, Javascript, and WebGL. To create the awesome 3D graphics and reflections in the realistic demo game “Pearl Boy” Hit the jump to find out more.

The graphics and performance on the BlackBerry Z10 look great. Reflections, environment maps, pixel shaders, they’re all there. WebGL is the real deal.

This could be done directly though the browser, or even better, directly by a BlackBerry HTML5/WebWorks application. By building and packaging your HTML5 application into a bar file (a BlackBerry app file container), it enjoys the same rights and privileges as a native application. These apps look, feel, and behave as native apps, as they don’t run inside a browser context. They don’t need to be online to work, and they can leverage great BlackBerry services like the Payment Services SDK and the BBM APIs. Gameloft brings numerous game titles to the PlayBook including Asphalt 7: Heat and N.O.V.A. 3

Gameloft has brought a slew of their BlackBerry 10 game titles over to the BlackBerry PlayBook today. It was great to see that Gameloft was dedicated to bringing these top games to the new operating system, and I am sure that PlayBook owners are happy to see that they have not been forgotten.

The titles that Gameloft has brought to the PlayBook include Asphalt 7: Heat, N.O.V.A. 3, Shark Dash, Ice Age Village and Let’s Golf 3. Many of these games will play even better on a larger screen so make sure you get into BlackBerry World and download them on your PlayBook as soon as possible.

With the PlayBook eventually being updated to BlackBerry 10, it will be interesting to see how developers that are solely making games for the PlayBook currently cope with the change. In the meantime hit up those links below to get some awesome games on your tablet.

Game Review: Devil’s Attorney for BlackBerry 10

There are some stellar games making their way to BlackBerry 10. One of the latest is Devil’s Attorney, which is a turn-based strategy game in which you play a less than reputable attorney named Max McMann. The gameplay is really easy to learn, but it will keep you thinking as you have to take different approaches to every case you take on.

You start off the game as a nobody and have to win court battles to earn money and upgrade your apartment. The majority of your clients are most likely guilty, but you have the be the smooth talking attorney that gets them off scot-free. Each case you take on will require a different approach, and this is where the game gets quite interesting.

For the most part the first bunch of cases are pretty easy to win as long as you keep on your toes. Your methods will have to adapt, but luckily you aren’t really penalized for losing a case as you can just try again. This comes in handy as you progress through the game and take on some formidable opponents in the courtroom.

The graphics of this game are the real star. There is a definite retro feel to the way the characters are drawn, and the intro the game gives you a real indication of what to expect. As you upgrade your apartment you will notice that the design and aesthetics of the furniture you can choose are definitely not minimalist or modern.

All around Devil’s Attorney is a must have for your BlackBerry 10 device. The gameplay is simple enough that anyone can play, but it does provide some challenges for those of you that are really into strategy games. So head on over to BlackBerry World and pick up Devil’s Attorney for only $2.99 and get to tampering with that evidence!
