If you did not know already QNX is what powers tons of things around the world from cars to the space shuttle and lots in between. Well QNX has put together a great video showing off just how powerful QNX is. The video puts emphasis on the Blackberry 10 devices which are incrediable. One of the many things that I enjoy are cars, so when the QNX Bentley rolled out on the stage during BlackBerry Live keynote I was awestruck. This car is amazing for anyone that enjoys technology and cars! The above video shows off just how powerful this Bentley is. It’s really cool to see something like this that will actually be for sale. I am not a fan of concept cars, with concept ideas that are never built. Being able to use your smart phone to update the software is just the beginning of what it can do. And hopefully it will pave the way for more cars to have these capabilities.

The Renesas R-Car SoC series offers a high-performance platform for a broad range of low-end to high-end car infotainment systems, including dashboard-mounted navigation units. These enhancements make the second-generation R-Car series ideally suited for the development of next-generation automotive infotainment systems. In March 2013, Renesas released R-Car H2, the first second-generation R-Car processor. QNX and Renesas intend to include support for the H2 as part of their ongoing collaboration.

7digital’s HTML5 global digital music store has been integrated within the QNX CAR platform. This integration allows automotive manufacturers and OEMs to build digital music stores directly into QNX-powered in-car infotainment systems.

The HTML5 store’s UI matches 7digital’s existing web and mobile store, already available in over 40 countries. Users of the integrated stores will be able to browse, preview and purchase music within their car, as well as access their existing collection already stored in 7digital’s cloud-based Locker. This will extend the 7digital connected-device experience to the car.

The QNX CAR platform for infotainment systems is based on QNX® technology deployed in millions of cars on the road today. Most of the world’s major automotive manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, GM, Honda, and Toyota, ship cars with QNX-based infotainment systems.

The integration has been completed using the 7digital Application Programming Interface (API), which allows 7digital’s partners and developers to build digital music stores into existing products and services using 7digital’s technology platform.
