As anticipated T-mobile held their “uncarrier” event today where they announced quite a few new things. Now of course today marks the availability of the BlackBerry Z10 on T-Mobile, but there were a few other new stories to come from the event. Today T-Mobile announced their new Values Plans, as well as the introduction of their LTE network. To top it all off T-Mobile is now officially carrying the iPhone, and while that may place a shadow over the launch of the Z10, it is good to see T-Mobile finally get the iPhone in their lineup.

T-Mobile Makes Bold “Un-carrier” Moves

Announces radically simple unlimited plan; axes contracts, unbundles cost of plan and device with lowest upfront costs, lights up 4G LTE network

New York, N.Y. — Mar. 26, 2013 2013-03-26 12:02:18- T-Mobile has been talking the talk; now it’s walking the walk. The company, known for its “Un-carrier” attitude, today announced a series of moves to address consumer frustration with the unnecessary cost and complexity of wireless.

The moves include radically simplifying its lineup of consumer rate plans to one incredibly affordable plan for unlimited talk, text and Web; ensuring that customers never have to sign another annual service contract through T-Mobile retail outlets; and enabling customers to get the most popular smartphones whenever they want for the lowest upfront cost. T-Mobile also debuted its blazing fast 4G LTE network service in seven major metropolitan areas.

“These bold moves serve notice that T-Mobile is canceling its membership in the out-of-touch wireless club,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile USA, Inc. “This is an industry filled with ridiculously confusing contracts, limits on how much data you can use or when you can upgrade, and monthly bills that make little sense. As America’s Un-carrier, we are changing all of that and bringing common sense to wireless.”

Un-Restricted, Un-Limited

Central to today’s announcement is a radically simple approach to consumer rate plans — the Simple Choice Plan. A break from industry norms, the Simple Choice Plan eliminates restrictive annual contracts, taking pain and confusion out of the wireless experience.

What could be simpler than one consumer rate plan?

Simple Choice asks customers two basic questions: How many lines do you need, and how much high-speed data would you like? Customers start with one line at $50 per month for unlimited talk, text and Web with 500MB of high-speed data. Customers can add a second phone line for $30 per month, and each additional line is just $10 per month. They can also add 2 GB of high-speed data for $10 per month more per line. Unlimited 4G data is only $20 more per month per line. No caps. No overages. Just simple value.

Also, because T-Mobile is the only major U.S. wireless company to stop requiring consumers to sign annual service contracts, customers have far more flexibility with how they buy and use wireless devices. Traditionally, getting a good deal on a new phone has meant agreeing to an expensive service for two years. Upgrades typically weren’t allowed (without significant upfront costs) until contracts expired, and it was often difficult to ascertain the true value of a device offer because it was tied to a long-term annual contract.

With T-Mobile’s un-restricted approach, customers can purchase great devices, pay for them in affordable, interest-free monthly installments, and upgrade anytime they like — not just when their carrier says it’s okay. Customers can even use their own unlocked device. Monthly statements are easy to understand since the price stays constant from month to month, and the device cost is clear and unmistakable.

Customers can find more information about T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan at nationwide T-Mobile retail stores, on http://www.T-Mobile.com, and through select dealers and national retail stores.

Un-Beatable Prices on LTE Devices

In tandem with the debut of its 4G LTE network service, T-Mobile also announced today that it will have several 4G LTE-capable devices available, including Samsung Galaxy S 4, BlackBerry Z10, HTC One, T-Mobile Sonic 2.0 Mobile HotSpot LTE and Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Un-Congested 4G Network

T-Mobile is moving at breakneck speed to expand the capabilities of its network.

Today, T-Mobile launched its state-of-the-art 4G LTE network in seven major metropolitan areas, including Baltimore; Houston; Kansas City; Las Vegas; Phoenix; San Jose, Calif.; and Washington, D.C. The advanced 4G LTE network is expected to reach 100 million Americans by midyear and 200 million by the end of 2013.

T-Mobile is deploying the latest LTE technology, paving the way to LTE Advanced. T-Mobile’s 4G LTE deployment will complement its existing nationwide 4G network — which third-party tests show rivals or beats existing LTE networks — creating what T-Mobile expects to be the fastest 4G combination in the United States. T-Mobile 4G LTE devices will automatically and seamlessly transition to T-Mobile’s nationwide 4G where LTE has not yet launched.

T-Mobile Launches Un-carrier with Wild West Commercial

To underscore its Un-carrier attitude, T-Mobile today unveiled a new tagline, “T-Mobile un-leash.” In tandem, the company will roll out a new nationwide advertising campaign, beginning with a television commercial tomorrow that plays off the Western film genre. The new commercial features a group of four cowboys in black hats riding into a dusty town to the terror of its residents. As three of the cowboys tell town folk they’re going to have to “do what we say,” the fourth, representing T-Mobile, switches to a magenta-colored hat and rides in another direction, saying he “just doesn’t want to do this anymore.” The 60-second ad spot closes with one cowboy musing “I’m gonna miss the guy” while our hero simply states “Oh, I’ll be around.”

T-Mobile Un-leashes iPhone 5 With Incredible New Pricing and No Annual Contracts

Becomes first major wireless company to eliminate service contracts; debuts 4G LTE network in seven major metropolitan areas

New York, N.Y. — Mar. 26, 2013 2013-03-26 11:59:58- Consumers will have a new affordable, unrestricted and hassle-free way to buy an iPhone 5 when T-Mobile USA, Inc. begins offering the revolutionary phone on Friday, April 12.

T-Mobile announced today that qualifying customers can get an iPhone 5 for $99.99 down, plus monthly payments. T-Mobile is the only major U.S. wireless company to offer iPhone 5 with no annual service contract plus unlimited talk, text and Web on a screaming-fast nationwide 4G network. And because there are no annual contracts, customers make the decision when to upgrade their devices — not the carrier.

“This is an important day for people who love their iPhone but can’t stand the pain other carriers put them through to own one,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile USA. “We feel their pain. I’ve felt the pain. So we’re rewriting the rules of wireless to provide a radically simple, affordable iPhone 5 experience — on an extremely powerful network.”

iPhone 5 is the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever, completely redesigned to feature a stunning 4-inch Retina display, an Apple-designed A6 chip for blazing fast performance and ultrafast wireless technology1 — all while delivering even better battery life.2 iPhone 5 comes with iOS 6, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system with over 200 new features, including Shared Photo Streams, Facebook integration, all-new Maps app and Passbook organization, and even more Siri features and languages.

With compatibility on T-Mobile’s 4G network, iPhone 5 customers will enjoy a consistently outstanding wireless experience, seamlessly connecting to both T-Mobile’s existing nationwide 4G and growing 4G LTE networks. Today, the company launched 4G LTE service in seven major metropolitan areas, including Baltimore; Houston; Kansas City; Las Vegas; Phoenix; San Jose, Calif.; and Washington, D.C. T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network is expected to reach 100 million people by mid-year and 200 million nationwide by the end of 2013. The company’s 4G HSPA+ network reaches 225 million people in 229 metropolitan areas.

In addition to a great 4G network experience, T-Mobile offers iPhone 5 customers one of the simplest and most competitive consumer rate plans in the industry. Rather than providing a dizzying number of consumer rate plans, T-Mobile is offering iPhone 5 with just one.

T-Mobile’s new Simple Choice Plan starts with a base rate of $50 per month for unlimited talk, text and Web with 500MB of 4G data.3 Consumers can add 2GB of 4G data for $10 per month per line or get unlimited 4G data for an additional $20 per month per line. Customers can add a second phone line for $30 per month, and each additional line is just $10 per month. There are no caps and no overages.

Additional Benefits

In addition to the Simple Choice Plan’s reasonable terms and powerful nationwide network, iPhone 5 customers can take advantage of several free premium benefits from T-Mobile, including:

HD Voice – delivering nationwide crystal-clear high-definition calling and significantly reduced background noise. T-Mobile is the only U.S. carrier offering nationwide HD Voice for iPhone 5.

T-Mobile Smartphone Mobile HotSpot for on-the-go tethering Internet access. Through Simple Choice, T-Mobile offers an additional 500MB of 4G data for tethering, enabling customers to tether from their iPads, Macs and other devices.

Talk and surf at the same time — without limits. Through T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan, customers can opt for totally unlimited 4G data on a nationwide network, something no other major U.S. wireless company offers for iPhone 5.

Pricing & Availability

iPhone 5 will be available for qualifying customers with T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan for $99.99 down and $20 per month for 24 months. Qualifying customers can get iPhone 4S through the Simple Choice Plan for $69.99 down and $20 per month for 24 months. iPhone 4 will be available for qualifying customers through the Simple Choice Plan for $14.99 down and $15 per month for 24 months. Financing is available on approval of credit online and in participating locations. iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 will be available in select markets. iPhone 5 will be available nationwide on Friday, April 12, at T-Mobile retail stores and through select dealers and national retail stores, as well as online at http://www.T-Mobile.com. Customers can pre-order iPhone 5 beginning Friday, April 5. For more information, visit the pre-registration page.

1 Network speeds are dependent on carrier networks, check with your carrier for details.

2 Battery life depends on device settings, usage and other factors. Actual results vary.

3 4G network connection required for 4G speeds; all data use applies to allotment. Once rate plan allotment of high-speed data has been consumed, customers will experience reduced Web speeds without overage charges for the remainder of the billing cycle. Unlimited 4G data is available for an additional $20 per month.

Just the other day we posted a leaked document letting us know that T-Mobile was hoisting up their LTE network in several Cities on the 26th of March, well that’s today! Included in that list were Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Jose, HOUSTON, Washington, DC, Kansas City and Baltimore. I woke up this morning grabbed my BlackBerry Z10 and boom I got LTE!!! Let us know in the comment if you cities LTE was turned on this morning!

I just ran a speed test through the browser on the BlackBerry Z10 running full LTE on T-Mobile. The speeds are incredible, 21.49 MBPS down and 7.80 MBPS up!!

Well, well, well, it is about time T-Mobile USA released an official OS update for the BlackBerry Bold 9900. T-Mobile is rolling out OS 7.1.0.912 for the BlackBerry Bold 9900, now this update is currently only pulling through Desktop Software at this time. I did check T-Mobile’s official update site and it is still showing OS 7.1.0.284.

To pull the OS update simple plug your device in to your PC, open the BlackBerry Desktop Software and check for updates. Let us know if you see anything different in the comments.

Note: If T-Mobile USA is not your carrier please remember that you must delete the vendor.XML file prior to loading. The vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device. Also, we at Nerdberry.net do not accept any responsibility for any damages that are caused by loading this or any OS. If you are not comfortable loading an OS please do not proceed without first asking for help. Remember to create a BACKUP of your phone first via the BlackBerry Desktop Software

***UPDATE***

I have received several reports that this OS is throwing errors at this time. The Error is: Error reading setup initialization file corrupt. Don’t waste your time downloading the OS.

Here is something interesting that was sent over to me from Indra via @rr_yy OS 7.1.0.912 for the BlackBerry Curve 9360 from T-Mobile USA. This is a leaked OS that will be going official soon. We are not sure what has changed in the OS as of yet, so if you see anything different feel free to let us know in the comments!

Download OS 7.1.0.912 for the BlackBerry Curve 9360 from T-Mobile USA

Note: If T-Mobile is not your carrier please remember that you must delete the vendor.XML file prior to loading.
