BlackBerry Q10 Has Been Selling Extremely Well in Canada

Earlier this week Thorsten Heins sat down with Bloomberg and was quoted that the Q10 was expected to sell “tens of millions” and that he has “quite some expectations” for its success in the future. Well it turns out that after several “store checks” and recent sales on, the “BlackBerry Q10 has been selling extremely well and has been sold out or seeing limited availability” in the city.

Jefferies & Co.’s Peter Misek, “This week the launch expanded to the greater Toronto area and more broadly across the UK. Based on our store checks, the BlackBerry Q10 has been selling extremely well and has been sold out or seeing limited availability in Toronto and across the U.K.”

The BlackBerry Q10 specs include a 2,100mAh battery, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera, 1.5GHz dual core processor, 3.1-inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and of course the BlackBerry 10 OS. Peter Misek also increased the Buy rating to $22 price target for BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY) today with successful launches and sale for the Q10 in the UK and Canada

Carphone Warehouse Selfridges sells out of BlackBerry Q10′s in 90 minutes

There was no doubt that the BlackBerry Q10 was going to be a hit with traditional BlackBerry fans, but it seems that people are going crazy over it. According to early reports Carphone Warehouse Selfridges in the UK sold out of 2000 Q10′s in only 90 minutes today. Now there are a few caveats before anyone gets too excited about the tremendous sales numbers coming out of the UK.

To start Selfridges has an exclusive on the Q10 in the UK until Monday, and many of the people there buying were most likely folks looking to buy as many units as possible to export around the world. Regardless of these facts if the rumors are true and Selfridges did sell 2000 units in 90 minutes that works out to 22.2 Q10′s being sold every minute. There have even been reports that people were still waiting in line after they sold out waiting to see when the next stock shipment would arrive.

Hopefully we will see this kind of enthusiasm and sales when the Q10 makes its way to North America next week when it launches in Canada on May 1st.

Carphone Warehouse goes live with their BlackBerry Q10 pre-orders in the UK

If you are in the UK and have been waiting patiently, or not so patiently, for the BlackBerry Q10 to get released that time is very near. Today you can now pre-order the BlackBerry Q10 from Carphone Warehouse, and the device is expected to be releases sometime around the end of April.

The majority of carriers in the UK will be carrying the Q10, as we already know that EE, T-Mobile, Orange, O2, Three and TalkMobile. There is definitely no shortage of choice when it comes to what carrier you want to get your Q10 on.

BlackBerry Q10 will be Available on April 26th in the UK

If you are still wondering when you will be able to get your hands on the BlackBerry Q10, folks in the UK will be able to get it on April 26th. The full QWERTY/Touchscreen BlackBerry will be the fist of its kind running BlackBerry 10. Both SIM-Less carriers Clove and Unlocked-Mobiles are said to launch at the same time.

The cost of the BlackBerry Q10 will be running £529-£535 so start saving up now. Let us know in the comments what you think.

BlackBerry Z10 OS 10.0.10.90 Rolling Out to O2 UK Users

As you can see from the above screenshot OS 10.0.10.90 is rolling out to O2 UK BlackBerry Z10 owners. This OS is the highest we have seen the last round of OS updates was to version 10.0.10.85, this OS brought lots of improvements including much better battery life.

With that being said one could assume that OS 10.0.10.90 includes those fixes and more. If you got the update and notice anything different please feel free to let us know in the comments.
