For those of you that remember I took a look at the beta version of Beejive a little while ago. Well now let’s have a look at the official version (2.0.3).

Beejive is a multi- account instant messaging app, and it is great! You can add in accounts from almost every IM client, from AOL to Facebook Chat to MSN. The UI is very easy to navigate and you can personalize backgrounds, status icons, etc.

Now if you remember correctly the greatest feature of Beejive for us Blackberry users, is that we can finally use Facebook Chat. This app fills a void that most Blackberry users have been tearing their hair out over for a while.  To be honest I did have some issues logging into the Facebook Chat for a few days, but when I sent an email to the Beejive support staff, I received an email response the next day with some solutions that worked perfectly.  Apparently they are having some issues with the Facebook chat, and their recommendation was to use my Facebook username and log in through the Jabber protocol that is supported on Beejive.  I didn’t have to use this method as I was finally able to figure out that I had some issues with my Facebook account itself.

Now after playing around with this app I have found some very useful settings. You can customize your status, you can have emails pushed to your device for notification when the app is idle. The setting I do like the best is the ability to send an “away from Beejive on my Blackberry” message when in a holster or whenever its idle.  You are also to completely customize how your buddy lists display and whether you want all the offline contacts displayed as well.

Now if you do have people on your any of your IM clients that you don’t want to be able to message you on your blackberry, have no fear you can “block buddies” , or just remove then if need be!  I removed a couple of people, friends that agreed to be part of my experiment,  and it did work well.  I no longer received their messages and was left in a little bit of silence for a few hours.

This app is a must have for any of you IM junkies out there. Gone are the days of having to open all kinds of apps to keep up with all your friends and buddies. With Beejive all those conversations are condensed into one easy to use app.  The price isn’t too crazy for what you get, and if you find yourself  using Facebook, MSN, Yahoo messenger, etc all the time on your Blackberry you should really look into this app, and you can give it a try with the 30 day free trial.

So head on over to Beejive and take a look.
