If there is one thing that really bothers me in a Twitter is the lack of multiple account support. If you have been looking for a multiple account solution for your BlackBerry PlayBook then look no further than Virtual Contact. When I first opened the app I was pretty impressed with the over all UI and how well the app worked. The dark UI is one that appeals to me and definitely doesn’t look like a free app. That is right folks I did just say that this Twitter client is free! Hit the break to check out the features and some screenshots of Virtual Contact in action!
Some of the main features of the app are ;
- Managing Multiple Twitter Accounts
- Auto Messages
- URL Shortener
- Search feature
- Image & Video publishing
- Shows DMs (Direct Messages)
- When viewing tweets with URL links, you can actually view the images or web pages without leaving the Twitter client app
Now I am not going to say that the app isn’t without its faults. I am sure that the ability to choose several different UI color schemes would appeal to the masses, as well as some options (which could of course utilize the awesome swipe down feature the PlayBook has). However in the land of PlayBook apps the selection isn’t always the greatest and I am very happy to see more developers jumping onto the platform. I am excited about what Virtual Contact may become “The end goal is to create a program that centralizes and simplifies your communication needs and your Web searches, as well as your access to various networks.”
Overall I am very happy with Virtual Contact and I am excited to see what it grows into. If you are looking for a new Twitter client for your PlayBook I suggest you give Virtual Contact a go.
