BlackBerry Internet Services to be supported by giffgaff

giffgaff, a SIM only network in UK, has started to offer BIS to their customers.  This means any customers that are using BlackBerries on the giffgaff network will not be able to take advantage of BBM, BlackBerry email, and all of the other good things that are tied into BIS service.  Now there are some specifications that need to be covered with this announcement. First users must have a “goodybag” with giffgaff to be able to purchase the BIS add on.  The addon itself will cost £3, which is marginally cheaper then the other providers in the area.  Secondly, this addition cannot be made mid cycle, meaning if you purchased your “goodybag” for this month you will need to wait until your billing cycle resets to add it to yours.

giffgaff is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) similar to boost or virgin mobile in the states.  They operate on O2’s network.

The add on will be available for purchase November 24th.
