With BlackBerry OS 7.1 around the corner, everyone including myself is waiting on new features like the HotSpot feature and more. N4BB has had a chance to see one of the features we will find in OS 7.1. OS 7.1 will include an ‘Emergency Alert Messages’ system. The new feature will keep you updated on various threat and more.
You can select 5 different alert notifications. The alerts include: Extreme threat, Severe threat, Amber alert, Monthly alert tests, and Presidential alert. You have the ability to disable all of the alerts excluding the Presidential alert.
You will also see the message icon on the homescreen so you can check the alerts. We are not sure who, what, when will have control over the alert system, but we do think this is a great way to stay updated on emergency events. Please feel free to tell us what you think.
