RIM Starts Outsourcing IT Service Desk As Part Of $1 Billion Cost Cutting

RIM CEO Thorsten Heins made it clear that RIM was going to cutting back and outsourcing some of their departments as part of the $1 billion in cost cutting that was needed.  RIM has continued along this path by starting to outsource their IT Service Desk, which will now be handled by NCR.

“We understand the difficulties that these changes have on individuals, their families and the community and we are grateful for the continued support and understanding of our community partners. These are difficult but necessary changes that will help put us on the right footing to launch BlackBerry 10 at the end of the month and deliver real value for our stakeholders now and in the future,” said RIM’s Global Corporate Communications Manager Nick Manning.
