When Alicia Keys was brought out on stage and announced as the new Global Creative Director for BlackBerry, she went through a whole analogy about how she had strayed to another platform but that she was back on BlackBerry. While the whole thing was a little weird, it did seem that she was committed to helping BlackBerry regain some of its lost popularity. However her faithfulness seems to have taken a step back today, as a tweet sent from her account was sent using Twitter for iPhone.
Now of course Global Creative Director Keys has come out and denied that the tweet was actually one of hers. She has publicly stated that her account must have been “hacked” and that she would never sent the tweet herself. We had assumed that maybe it had been an assistant or someone in her staff that had sent it from their iPhone in error, opposed to using Alicia’s BlackBerry Z10, but the excuse of being hacked seems a little odd.
So does the Global Creative Director for BlackBerry also use an iPhone? Who knows at this point, but to be fair if you look back a little, the majority of her tweets are sent from Twitter’s web interface therefore giving ambiguity to her device of choice.
