UK Insurance Co. Aviva trashes MobileIron for BES 10 thanks to the Heartbleed attack and iOS devices

This is great news for BlackBerry! Aviva UK is one of the biggest insurance company’s in the UK, according to The Register the company has decided to switch from MobileIron to BES 10. The reason why, is because thanks to the Heartbleed attack a hacker on May 20th gained access to the MobileIron administration server where over 1000 iOS devices were being managed. This let the hacker post a message to those handhelds and the email accounts.

In a staement to The Register Aviva states:

The issue was specific to iPhones and none of Aviva’s business data was accessed or lost. Someone gained access to a third party supplier, which also enabled them to reset mobile devices for some Aviva users. There were no financial losses or repercussions. It was an overnight issue and by the start of the next day we had begun to restore devices.

Way to go BlackBerry! Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
