BlackBerry to bring BBM Meetings to Enterprises

BlackBerry has been working diligently on bringing added value service to BlackBerry Messenger for the last few months.  Now that BBM can be utilized on multiple platforms, BlackBerry is taking another step to add value to BBM. BlackBerry will be adding BBM Meetings to enterprises for voice and video conferences!

In an interview with the Jakarta Post; John Sims BlackBerry’s president for global enterprise solutions, let more information out of the bag:

We will [also] soon be launching something called BBM Meetings. It is a service that allows voice and video conferences for groups of about 25 people.

It will initially be launched as an enterprise service this year and we will also expand it to the consumer market sometime next year […] It will have a presence on BlackBerry devices, iOS and Android. It will be on tablets and we will also have a desktop version.

At this time there is no word on functionality of BBM Meetings at this time, but we do already know that GoToMeeting and WebEx have a good handle on this market.

Let us know what you think about BBM Meetings in the comments.
